Old Fashioned Pioneer Applesauce
Ingredients: 5 c. boiling water 4 C, coarsely chopped dried apples 1/2 – 3/4 c. sugar 1 tsp cinnamon
Directions: In a medium saucepan, pour boiling water over dried apples. Let stand to soften 15 minutes. Cover and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer until thickened to desired consistency, 30 to 35 minutes. Mix sugar and cinnamon together well. Stir into sauce.
Serve cool or warm.
Makes 3-1/2 to 4 cups
